Each material fulfills a specific role. The loofah acts as the active surface on one side, while the nylon mesh functions as the exfoliating surface on the other. Both layers are joined through a continuous textile perimeter that defines the product's geometry.

Made around a simple idea.

Spongé began as a single question: could a bath sponge do two jobs well — cleansing and exfoliation — without adding complexity? Concept_01 is our first answer. A flat, flexible geometry with integrated handles, built from materials chosen for their honesty.

We avoid unnecessary components. We don't hide materials behind plastic shells. What you see is what you wash with.

Everything you wanted to know about a sponge.

How long does the sponge last?

With proper drying between uses, the loofah side typically holds up for 3–4 months of daily use. The nylon mesh lasts longer; we recommend replacing the whole sponge together for hygiene.

Is the mesh side too rough for sensitive skin?

It can be, especially at first. We recommend starting with the loofah side and introducing the mesh side a few times per week until you find your rhythm.

Is the packaging plastic-free?

Yes — Spongé ships in a recycled kraft sleeve with a stitched cotton loop. No plastic bags, no foam.

Where is it made?

Our loofah is sourced from a family-run farm, then cut and stitched in a small textile workshop. We're happy to share more on request.

Is it compostable?

The loofah, cotton perimeter, and hemp cord are compostable. The nylon mesh is not — we're working on a fully plant-based version for Concept_02.
